The football world is watching what the reaction of Daniel Levy will be, the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, after Gift Orban bagged a hat-trick for Gent in the Europa Conference League qualifying round 3 match against Pogon Szczecin on Wednesday night.

The London club have been linked with the Nigerian striker, Gift Orban, in the past couple of days, and the player who has done enough to attract bigger clubs from Europe for his signature continued his stellar performances for his club.
The 21-year old was an unused substitute in Gent's last league outing against KV Mechelen before their Europa Conference League qualifying showdown with Pogon Szczecin, raising eyebrows whether his coach will start him in the key match.
All that speculation was squashed as the player started the match and put his team on course for a big win early on; getting the first goal and two others to give his side a 5-0 win in the first leg and guide Gent towards the door of the ECL playoffs on Wednesday night.
Gift Orban's performance on the night has undoubtedly made a huge impression on Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglu (coach of Tottenham Hotspur) who're thinking about a potential long-term replacement for Harry Kane.
The Nigeria international’s hat-trick against Pogon Szczecin makes it the third time he has gotten 3 goals for Gent in one match.
Furthermore, Gift Orban has scored 25 goals in 25 games in the last seven months.
Obviously, it is clear to see why Tottenham are reportedly keen to get Orban. He looks like a star in the making, and a potential long-term Kane's replacement upfront.
The ball is in Daniel Levy's court now, an economics graduate from Cambridge University, who has gained a reputation as a chairman who takes a cautious approach to spending, and particularly when it comes to selling Spurs’ major stars.
How much is Gift Orban valued?
According to The Times, the Nigerian goal machine’s price tag is relatively affordable, around the region of £23 million.
In Tottenham's assessment, “deal could be made for about £20 million”, added the report.
The Lilywhites have already brought in one new forward in Alejo Veliz, but it looks like they may want more in preparation for life after Kane.
Will Tottenham bid for Gift Orban in the coming days?
Ange Postecoglu's side have Orban in their radar as a possible replacement for England captain Harry Kane, who has been heavily linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich.
For one, Spurs have rejected the Bavarians latest offer of £86 million for the talismanic player, and are looking to get another improved bid from the German giants, but at the time of writing, it is not certain that Bayern will increase their offer.
The situation between Tottenham and Kane's suitors has a role to play if the London side will make an official bid for Gift Orban.
It is clear that Tottenham Hotspur have not yet put forward a concrete offer to sign Orban but have held talks with the striker's agent to discuss the possibility of signing the talented Nigerian this summer but we're not sure when this deal will happen as it depends on some other key factors.
On one hand, Orban's club Gent, are yet to set an asking price for the red-hot goal poacher who is also attracting interest from Lille.
As Gift Orban's interest from clubs grows in the coming weeks, his Belgian Pro League side could be tempted to raise the bar for the player who is on course to take Europe on his belts.
