Mohammed Kudus may eventually be on the move. It seems the transfer push is legitimate. The Ghanaian and Ajax attacking midfielder has been the subject of interest from several quarters this summer, but nothing has come out of it. Mohammed Kudus is interested in leaving Ajax but is yet to get his desire.

It is hijack season, and clubs seem more interested in appropriating player interest from other sides. Liverpool is an example. The Reds had shown interest in two defensive midfielders (Moisés Caicedo and Romeo Lavia), but in about a week, Chelsea hijacked the move from the Reds.

With about two weeks of the transfer still to operate, it seems we’re due for more drama. Where will the next drama come from? It probably is in the shape of Mohammed Kudus.

Chelsea and Liverpool have been going head-on this summer. Mohammed Kudus is back in the frame as the next battlefront. Last year, several clubs were interested in the Ghanaian player, but he remained at Ajax.

Interest in the player has not waned, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all indicating interest in signing him. West Ham has thrown its hat in the ring for the 23-year-old Ajax star.

With Manchester City not backing off their interest in Lucas Paqueta, David Moyes is proactive by signing a replacement should he eventually leave.

David Moyes is in a position of strength and has money in the bag after the £105 million sale of Declan Rice. The sale of Lucas Paqueta would mean more money to play with.

David Moyes wants to retain the former Lyon midfielder, but should Man City come with a bid too hard to resist, West Ham would have to sell.

Moyes has thus reignited interest in Mohammed Kudus, who has become the primary target for the Hammers.

Ongoing talks for Kudus

Recent reports suggest that talks are already ongoing between Ajax and West Ham. Feelers from the player side indicate an interest in joining West Ham.

Brighton had also shown interest in signing the player, and last week, it looked like the Ghanaian midfielder was on his way to Brighton. However, the two parties failed to agree on personal terms despite agreeing a €40 million with Ajax.

West Ham is now leading the race to bag Mohammed Kudus with positive talks ongoing. Tim Steidten, the Hammers technical director, is believed to have flown to Amsterdam to meet Ajax. The initial feelers are that Mohammed Kudus will become a Hammer before the end of the month.

West Ham have other targets

Besides Mohammed Kudus, the Hammers are also interested in Stuttgart centre-back Konstantinos. They are also considering offering Jesse Lingard a short-term deal after the former Machester United and Nottingham Forest midfielder tried to prove his fitness to David Moyes in training.

West Ham also want Nottingham Forest striker Brennan Johnson and Rennes winger Jeremy Doku.

Moyes has requested a striker plus the Ghanaian midfielder. The Hammers had a £30 million bid Dominic Solanke turned down last month.

While they are also eyeing Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, West Ham believe a fee of around £49 million would get them Mohammed Kudus.
