Guardiola, who currently manages 2023 UEFA Champions League winners Manchester City, has had an illustrious career as a manager.

After retiring as a player, where he won four consecutive La Liga titles from 1991 to 1994, and had glory in European Championships with FC Barcelona, Guardiola was appointed as the coach for “Barcelona B” team. He was made manager of the senior side FC Barcelona squad in 2008, with players like Lionel Messi and Xavi in his squad.

Guardiola enjoyed incredible success, winning the UEFA Champions League twice with his beloved Barcelona. The current Manchester City manager won the European treble, securing La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Champions League in his first season in 2008. His Barcelona team followed it up with a Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup in 2009.

Guardiola transformed the team into world-beaters. At the time, he was regarded as the best manager and Barcelona, the best team in the world.

14 trophies in three years at Barcelona was proof of his managerial pedigree.

Guardiola also secured the FIFA Club World Cup in 2011 with Barcelona, winning it again in 2013 as Bayern Munich manager.

The FIFA Club World Cup is the highest honour at the club level.

The tournament is a particularly prestigious trophy for clubs in South America and is valued by clubs in Nigeria and throughout Africa.

Guardiola also has four UEFA Super Cups in his cabinet, two at Barcelona (2009, 2011) and one each at Bayern Munich (2013) and Manchester City (2023).

He has won a massive 11 league titles – three each at Barcelona (2008-9, 2009-10, 2010-11) and Bayern Munich (2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16) and five at Manchester City (2017-18, 2018-19, 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23).

The Spaniard also has 16 domestic cups, five at Barça (Copa Del Rey 2008-9, 2011-12, Supercopa de Espana 2009, 2010, 2011), two at Bayern (DFB Pokal 2013-14 and 2015-16), and nine at Manchester City (FA Cup 2018-19 and 2022-23; League Cup 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21; UEFA Super Cup 2023-24; and Community Shield 2018-19 and 2019-20).

Since joining Manchester City, Guardiola has rocked the English Premier League, winning most of the league titles and domestic cups. The Spaniard has won 15 trophies with Man City since arriving in 2016 – five league titles, two FA Cups (2019 and 2023), four League Cups (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), one UEFA Super Cup (2023) and the FA Community Shield on two occasions.

He won his 14th title with the club when his team beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League final, completing a historic treble. The Spaniard made further history with Manchester City recently, winning the UEFA Super Cup 2023 for the first time in their history.

A memorable 2022/23 season

Manchester City started the 2022/23 season hoping to compete in all competitions favourably. However, they went a step beyond that, winning almost every trophy in their sights.

Guardiola led his Manchester City side to their fifth Premier League title in May and beat arch-rivals Manchester United to lift the FA Cup. It was the first time Guardiola's Manchester City had won England's main domestic cup since 2019.

The Spanish coach then topped it all off with the one trophy City had long been waiting for: the UEFA Champions League.

The Cityzens reached the final after outplaying and outclassing 14-time UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid to win the second leg of their semi-final 4-0, progressing 5-1 winners on aggregate.

They shut out Inter Milan in the final to win 1-0, courtesy of a 68th-minute goal from Rodri, to win the title.

Pep Guardiola trophies: New season, same old Pep

Following the disappointment of losing the Community Shield 2023 against Arsenal, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City were determined to make amends in the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla.

They did so, holding their nerve to win 5-4 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.

The Cityzens are looking forward to winning yet another treble this season.
