Burnley welcomed Tottenham Hotspur to Turf Moor in a Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon, and Lyle Foster was on target for Vincent Kompany's outfit.

Tottenham continued their impressive run this season to make the loss of Harry Kane to be easily forgotten.

Ange Postecoglu's side put Burnley to the sword as they showcased a five-star performance to hand the Clarets a 2-5 humiliating loss in front of their fans.

Let's delve into how the seven-goal thrilling encounter unfolded

Lyle Foster opened the scoring

Burnley who are still without a point in the league got the perfect start to the game as South African sensation Lyle Foster sent the home crowd into dreamland with his second goal of the league season.

Berge started the move with a pass down the left side to Koleosho, who did well to skip past Pedro Porro and made his way into the box before delivering a low pass inside the box.

Lyle Foster positioned himself well as he got ahead of his man before striking it past the goalkeeper into the net with a clinical finish.

However, Spurs hit back in style after conceding the first goal to draw as their Korean talismanic forward found the net.

Son combined superbly with Manor Solomon to chip a delightful equaliser into the home net in the 16th minute before central defender Cristian Romero thumped a terrific shot in off a post in added time to send the game into the break on 1-2 scoreline.

Half-time substitutions saw Kompany switch to a back five to try to stop Tottenham’s attacking flow but it did little to change the course of the match as the visitors pushed Burnley further back.

And just nine minutes into the second half, Tottenham extended their lead as Maddison bagged another league goal for Tottenham.

Burnley's redesigned defence will still be pulled apart by Son’s composure inside the box to net his second of the day in the 63rd minute.

Soon after, Son completed his hat trick in the 66th minute as he finished off a Pedro Porro assist.

The rest of the game was played without goals as the match tilted down to 90 minutes.

Burnley then had a late consolation goal as Josh Brownhill found the net in the fourth minute of added time.

The goal did nothing to change the balance of play at Turf Moor aside from annoying those who have put Guglielmp Vicario in goal in their Fantasy Premier League team.

Spurs' flying start under Ange Postecoglou continued as Spurs thrashed Burnley 5-2 at Turf Moor, leaving the Clarets bottom of the table and still without a point after three games.
