The Nigeria Super Falcons and England will battle it out for a place in the quarter-final of the FIFA Women's World Cup on Monday morning. Which of these teams will be left standing at the end of this match?

Prediction 1: England to win

Granted, the Super Falcons have put up a fairly decent run of results lately; they are unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions, with four wins and two draws. However, Randy Waldrum's side managed just one win in three group games.

On the other hand, the Lionesses had a perfect three wins from three in the group stage; they bagged eight goals in that three-game stretch, allowing just one goal. Moreover, England have been a tough team to beat; as they lost just once in their last 35 matches stretching back to April 2021. Taking everything into account, the Lionesses should come out on top.

Prediction 2: At least one team to blank

Our second Nigeria Super Falcons vs England prediction is on the BTTS market. It may interest you to know that although Randy Waldrum's side have been able to rely on their defense in recent months. They kept two clean sheets in three group matches, and did not concede in four of their last six matches across all competitions. That said, at least one team failed to score in seven of Nigeria's last nine games.

In like manner, the Lionesses have seen their defense breached just once in their last four games; and for this reason, we are fairly confident that one of these teams will keep a clean sheet.

Prediction 3: Less than three total goals

Given that these teams have not conceded many goals in recent weeks, it's no surprise that they've been involved in a lot of low-scoring matches lately. While five of England's last six matches featured less than three goals, six of the Super Falcons' last nine games went below the 2.5 goal mark. On that note, this will likely be a low-scoring affair.

Nigeria Super Falcons vs England head to head

This will be the fourth encounter between these teams, and their second meeting at the FIFA Women's World Cup. Although to be fair, these teams haven't met in 19 years. England and Nigeria first clashed at the FIFA Women's World Cup in 1995, where the Lionesses came out on top. However, the Super Falcons won the next two friendly matches between these sides, in 2002 and 2004.
