Former Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh heaped praise on Manchester City and it's manager, Pep Guardiola after their FA Cup triumph on Saturday afternoon.

The Citizens faced their crosstown rivals, Manchester United in the FA Cup final a week after the close of the Premier League season, where they were crowned champions for the third consecutive campaign.

Manchester United were tasked with stopping them from winning their second title of the season in the FA Cup final and Erik Ten Hag’s men were tough opponents on the day.

The Citizens were off to a flying start through Ilkay Gundogan. The Manchester City captain scored the fastest goal in FA Cup final history with a brilliant volley that flew past a flat footed David De Gea in the United goal after 13 seconds.

It was a start that caught Manchester United cold but they were able to rally themselves and look for an equalizer. Their break came after Jack Grealish handled in the box and was adjudged to have committed a foul after a VAR check.

United’s skipper on the day, Bruno Fernandes scored the resulting penalty to get draw side level before the interval in what was a cagey first half.

In the second half, City took the lead once again through Gundogan. This time it was another volley from a cross played by Kevin De Bruyne. The German international’s mishit strike went through a crowd of bodies and bubbled across the ground before going past David De Gea in goal.

The Citizens were able to hold their lead for the rest of the match and became FA Cup winners in the end.

After the match, Sunday Oliseh tweeted about how impressed he was with Pep Guardiola’s side and hinted at a potential treble win for them.

“Congrats to Man. City as they confirm their “Total dominance” Of English football, “Oliseh, affectionately called the African Guardiola stated.

Oliseh wondered if the FA Cup was a sign of more laurels to come as City await Serie A giants and former champions Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final.

“I raise my hat to Guardiola; for continuously reinventing these top players, winning the FA Cup by applying non-stop, D 10 combined principles of defense & attack, with panache! Next, the Treble?”
