Brazilian icon Rivaldo hails Salah as “best in the world”

Brazilian and world football icon, Rivaldo, has described Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah as “one of the best players in the world” and tipped the Egyptian forward to win the 2021 Ballon d’Or.

Salah, who arrived at Anfield in a £38million deal in 2017 from AS Roma, recently became the fastest player in the club’s history to reach 100 goals and has added some consistency to his game having missed just four Premier League matches since 2019.

The 29-year-old has already scored six goals in seven appearances in the Premier League for the Reds after his brace in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

According to Brazil legend Rivaldo, who lavished praise upon the Egyptian star after a storming start to the season, Salah should be one of the players in the running for football’s most coveted individual award after an incredible year.

“Liverpool’s Egyptian forward is producing a fantastic start of the season with impressive stats and a sensational goal against Manchester City last weekend,”

“He’s one of the best players in the world right now because his astonishing numbers in terms of goals and assists are obtained in the Premier League and Champions League, two of the most difficult competitions on the planet.” Rivaldo, an ambassador for Betfair, wrote.

A 30-man list for the 2021 award has confirmed Salah’s name is in the hat, amongst 13 other Premier League nominees, for the award.”
