Why Solskjaer stopped Ronaldo from storming down tunnel after Leicester defeat

Cristiano Ronaldo attempted to head straight down the tunnel in dismay at the 2-4 result at the full-time whistle, only for his boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to turn him back towards the fans.

The Foxes brought United’s record-away run to a crashing end as Solskjaer’s men collapsed during a chaotic end to a thrilling clash.

Jamie Vardy and substitute Patson Daka scored late to condemn United to a first away league defeat since January 2020.

Both sides were looking to return from the international break with a bang after recent struggles, with the visitors higher in the Premier League but under more intense scrutiny.

Solskjaer had to force Ronaldo to applaud the travelling Manchester United fans after he tried to storm down the tunnel at Leicester.

The 36-year-old was equally disappointed against Everton before the international break at the full-time whistle.

Next up for the Red Devils is a must-win Champions League game against Atalanta followed up with a clash against bitter rivals Liverpool.
