Athletic Bilbao vs. Barca: How Koeman could line up against Bilbao

Barcelona will be without a couple of first-team players for their second La Liga game of the season. They will travel to face Athletico Bilbao at the weekend.

Moussa Wagne, Ansu Fati, Oscar Minguenza, Sergio Aguero, Ousama Dembele and Marc-Andre ter Stegen are absent  due to injury.

Ronald Koeman’s side did not have fresh injury worries from their opening game with Real Sociedad.

There were enough positives from their game at Camp Nou despite the two goals they let in the space of five minutes.

Martin Braithwaite was handed a start in the attack and the Veteran forward helped his course scoring brace while Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto added further goals.

Emerson, Roberto, Clement Lenglet and Ronald Araujo were all among the substitutes for Barcelona at the weekend.

But Koeman may not have to make further personnel changes for this tie. Braithwaite is expected to start alongside Antoine Greizmann and Memphis Depay upfront for Barcelona.

Pedri should also play a part in midfield. Dutch midfield player Frankie de Jong was a doubt for the Real Sociedad contest but he featured for 71 minutes in the encounter.

And with no worry as to the occurrence of this issue, he should keep his place yet again in the team.

Barcelona Possible Starting Element:

Neto; Sergino Dest, Gerard Piqué, Eric Garcia, Jordi Alba; Pedri, Sergio Busquets, Frenkie De Jong; Martin Braithwaite, Memphis Depay, Antoine Greizmann.
