Ronald Araújo Rescues Barcelona With Late Header

Ronald Araújo was Barcelona's messiah in their 1-1 draw against La Liga strugglers, Granada on Monday at the Camp Nou.

The Uruguayan headed in a cross in the dying minute to salvage the game for Ronald Koeman's men as they maintain their unbeaten streak in the league.

Barca, prior to Monday's encounter with Granada have had a hundred percent record on their turf this season, winning both two matches they've played.

However, the perfect record came under threat with just two minutes of play as Duarte headed in Sergio Escudero's cross to give Granada an unexpected early lead.

In doing so, the centre-back became only the second Granada player to score at both Camp Nou and the Santiago Bernabéu in the 21st century.

Barcelona in their pursuit for an equalizer came very close to scoring when Sergi Roberto struck the crossbar. Sergio Busquets and Ronald Araújo both saw their headed chances saved by Granada goaltender, Luis Maximiano.

The Nazaries grew more resolute in the latter minutes of the first half so much so that with Barca's commanding 78% possession in the first half, it was so difficult to break down a stubborn and hard-working Granada side.

Koeman's Barcelona found more spaces in Granada's defense earlier on in the second half and got the ball to their star man, Memphis Depay who had wasted two chances in the first half. But rather, unfortunately, the Dutch forward couldn't do magic for the Blaugrana.

The magic would come in the 90th minute from a source that was never considered to be one for goals. Araújo Araújo got forward and jumped highest to head in the equaliser from Gavi's cross to salvage a point for the Catalan giants.
