Remo Stars vs Sporting Lagos predictions

Now that we've gotten the lineups out of the way, these are our predictions for this game:

Sporting Lagos not to lose

To be fair, Sporting Lagos just gained promotion to the NPFL. However, they've impressed so far, going unbeaten in their first three matches. The visitors have a win and two draws in that three-game stretch, holding their own against a team like Akwa United away from home.

Remo Stars have also had a solid start to their NPFL campaign, winning two of three games with one loss. Given that they have the advantage of playing at home, it's no surprise that the Sagamu based team are the clear favourites to win this match. We're going for value here, and that's why we're leaning towards Sporting Lagos not to lose.

One team will fail to score

We've already established that Sporting Lagos have no losses in three league matches so far. That's partly because they've been able to rely on their solid defense. As a matter of fact, the visitors did not concede a single goal in three matches. Conversely, they failed to score in two of those games.

We would like to point out that at least one team blanked in five of Remo Stars' last seven matches in all competitions; and for this reason, we are fairly confident that one of these teams will keep a clean sheet.

Under 2.5 total goals

Our final Remo Stars vs Sporting Lagos prediction is on the over/under goals market. Considering Sporting Lagos are yet to concede, it's no surprise that their matches tend to be on the low-scoring side. The visitors are coming off back-to-back goalless draws, and their three league matches featured less than three goals.

In the same vein, six of Remo Stars' last eight games went below the 2.5 goal line; and for this reason, we don't think these teams will score up to three goals between them.

Remo Stars recent form

Remo Stars got their first away win of the season at Bayelsa United. They had a one-man advantage for over 70 minutes, and capitalized on it. Daniel Ogunmodede's men will look to string up back-to-back wins as they host newly-promoted Sporting Lagos this weekend.

Sporting Lagos recent form

On the other hand, Sporting Lagos played out a goalless draw against Doma United in their last game; they are now unbeaten in three games played so far, with a win and two draws. Paul Offor's men will look to keep their unbeaten run intact as they make the trip to the Remo Stars Stadium.
