Southampton 0 - 3 Chelsea: Unbeaten Blues go top of Premier League

Ross Barkley was on target for Chelsea as the Blues continued their unbeaten start under Maurizio Sarri with a 3-0 win over Southampton at St Mary's.

Barkley scored his first goal for Chelsea as he was given the nod ahead of Mateo Kovacic in the starting line-up, which rewarded Sarri's faith by setting up the opener for Eden Hazard on the half-hour mark.

The 24-year-old then got a well-deserved goal for himself, tapping home from close range after a wonderful bicycle kick assist from Olivier Giroud.

Alvaro Morata came off the bench to score a late third after being played through by Hazard and it was a perfect measure of the Blues' dominance.

But Southampton were unable to convert two golden chances before Chelsea's first two goals.

Chelsea opened scoring four minutes later when Barkley robbed Pierre Emile Hojbjerg in his own half and played in Hazard, who made no mistake by finishing into the corner.

Bertrand then had the chance to equalize but volleyed over at the far post, before Barkley made it two just shy of the hour-mark.

Southampton forced two fine saves from Kepa Arrizabalaga through Ings and Nathan Redmond, before Morata added a late third, dinking over Alex McCarthy to seal a resounding away win for Sarri's men.
