Ndidi Makes First Comment Since Leicester’s Champions League Miss

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is disappointed that the Foxes only qualified for the Europa League after spending much of the campaign in the top-four places.

The Nigeria international was superb in his 32nd league game of the season, but Brendan Rodgers’ men still fell to a final day 2-0 defeat to the Red Devils at the King Power Stadium.

With that loss, the Foxes finish fifth in the Premier League, ending the season on 62 points from 38 games, having won 18 matches during that time.

After taking a few days to take stock of the entire season, the Super Eagles star confesses that looking beyond their disappointment, they have had a fantastic year finishing above the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, and Everton.

“We are a bit disappointed to finish 5th,” the Super Eagles star wrote on Twitter. ”But overall. It was a great season!

“I want to, first of all, thank our fans for being with us even when the stadiums were empty due to the pandemic, it was indeed a season to learn from and grow into next season thanks for support.”
