EFL Cup: Ndidi Creates Assist In Leicester's Loss To Man City

Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were on parade for Leicester City as they lost 3-1 on a penalty shootout to holders Manchester City in EFL Cup.

After regulation time, the match ended in a 1-1 draw with Ndidi providing the assist for Leicester's equalizer scored by Marc Albrighton after City took the lead through fit again Kevin De Bruyne.

Iheanacho was given a ‘rare’ opportunity to lead Leicester attack and he almost repaid his coach with a goal as he was presented with the chance to restored parity for the hosts with 13 minutes left before the halftime break, but his snapshot went wide.

With less than 15 minutes to the end of the match, Ndidi capped impressive display with a great pass to set up Marc Albrighton whose volley was too much for Muric in goal for City.

Ricardo Pereira was brought in to replace Iheanacho with nine minutes left on the clock.

Manchester City went on to win the match 1-3 after a penalty shootout to end Leicester City's advent in the tournament.
