Lucas Moripe Stadium hosted Mamelodi Sundowns vs Bumamuru CAF Champions League return leg on Saturday evening.

Everything has been going well for Sundowns ahead of the visit of Bumamuru. They've just recently created history in the PSL in their win against Stellenbosch, and were on course for another CAF Champions League win over Bumamuru.

Masandawana already looked home and dry after a 4-0 first leg win away at Bumamuru two weeks ago. However, Sundowns didn't rest on their laurels as they again thrashed Bumamuru 2-0 with Mothobi Mvala and Teboho Mokoena scoring either side of the half to seal a place in the CAF Champions League Group Stage and 6-0 on aggregate.

Let's delve into the match review:

Sundowns' with a 1-0 win at half-time

Mendieta and Shalulile had a place on the bench but that didn't stop Mamelodi Sundowns from taking an early lead in the game.

Masandawana made their early dominance count as Mvala connected with a perfect ball that was played in and headed it home to give Sundowns the lead after 11 minutes.

Seven minutes later, Sundowns could have extended their lead, Mobiba with a well-placed freekick that came close to finding the net.

The PSL defending champions had other chances that went begging in the game as time tilted down to the break but no other goal was scored.

Teboho Mokoena doubled the lead for Sundowns easy win

Mamelodi Sundowns entered the second half strongly as the first half with Maseko having a fine first chance of the half with a heading attempt that nearly connected from a well-placed ball into the box.

Last season's semi-finalists continued their dominance and duly extended their lead in the 49th minute!

Mokoena struck thunderously from close range that left the keeper helpless in goal to extend Sundowns aggregate lead to 6-0 in the evening.

The Brazilians kept dominating possession, building from the back as they kept knocking at the Bumamuru defence for yet another goal.

The minutes wore down as Bumamuru stood strong and never willing to concede further goals.

In the end, it was a comfortable win for Sundowns' who booked back-to-back Group Stage appearances in two straight seasons.
