Arsenal have confirmed that Martin Odegaard has now been signed on a permanent basis from Real Madrid for a reported fee of £30m million.
The Norway international is the latest recruit based on what appears to be a strategy of bringing in players in their early 20s.
There was Ben White (23), Albert Sambi Lokonga (21), Nuno Tavares (21), with 23-year-old Aaron Ramsdale set to join too.
Signing Odegaard was a key priority for the Gunners all summer and eventually, after a few bumps in the road and flirtations with other options, Mikel Arteta has his man.
Given the fees being quoted for alternative attacking midfielders, snaffling the 22-year-old at this price looks like decent business.

Odegaard made 20 appearances for Arsenal during a fruitful six-month loan spell, scored twice and made two assists.
