Man Utd Book Medical For Cristiano Ronaldo With Two-Year Contract

After making his desire to leave Juventus clear, and Manchester City transfer links broke down, Manchester United have registered their interest and look set to seal Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Old Trafford.

Manchester City were believed to be leading the race, but Manchester Evening News claim that Ronaldo informed City that he was no longer interested in joining them, once United had registered their interest.

The report adds that United are willing to offer a two-year contract to the Portuguese legend 11 years after he departed for Real Madrid.

Sir Alex Ferguson is said to have made contact, helping convince him to return to his old stomping ground.

According to MEN, a medical will take place in Lisbon ahead of a move before Tuesday night’s transfer deadline.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke in glowing terms about the forward when asked about the chances of him returning.

“I've said many times with speculation, when you're Man United, when you're Ronaldo, when you're Messi, when you're Pogba, when you're Bruno, you have to read a lot about yourselves. So let's see what happens with Cristiano, he's such a legend of this club.

“Cristiano has been a legend of this club, he is a legend of this club, he's the greatest player of all time if you ask me. I was fortunate enough to play with him, I coached him (in 2008) when I got my job.”
