Thomas Tuchel Criticizes Newcastle United takeover

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has revealed how he honestly feels about the Newcastle United takeover, admitting he has concerns but insisting he trusts the Premier League’s decision.

Worth an alleged £700bn, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), financier Amanda Staveley, and David and Simon Reuben are now in charge at St James’ Park.

However, the takeover hasn’t come without criticism from some quarters.

According to The Guardian, the other 19 Premier League clubs are united in opposition to the consortium being allowed to buy out Mike Ashley and are demanding to know what changed for it to be waved through and why they received so little notice.

The Blues boss Tuchel was just one of the Premier League managers asked what he thought of the takeover on Tyneside and whether he had any concerns.

“In general yes, and I think it’s normal to have concerns,” The Telegraph quotes him as saying (1:52pm).

“But we trust in the Premier League that they have accepted, and they are the authorities in this case.

“This is a fact now that they allowed it, they have new owners, the new owners seem to be very promising for the fans and for a famous club here in England.

“And it seems that we have a new competitor for titles and for places in the top ranking, and this is what we are here for.

“We are playing in the toughest league, and it seems to get tougher.”
